Android Battery Settings
Android saves battery by restricting certain app activities.
It stops apps that monitor movement in the background or use tracking.
However, this causes problems for some apps that are supposed to monitor user activity (like AutoSOS).
In the Android settings, you can free chosen apps from this restriction by deactivating battery optimization and energy-saving options manually for these apps.
Unfortunately, these settings differ depending on the Android version.
Some mobile phone manufacturers additionally build in their own battery-saving mechanisms.
During installation, AutoSOS tries to guide users to the Android settings.
But – because of these differences – it is not always possible to implement and test this reliably.
To simplify the manual settings, we have collected some known settings and variations on this page.
